Chef Shawn Fearon was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, the capital of the small island nation. As the oldest of four boys, Chef Shawn learned to cook to support his single mother, as she struggled to provide for her family.
From Ackee and codfish to fried plantains, Chef Shawn mastered the cuisine of his homeland before he graduated high school. During his culinary training, Chef Shawn learned from world-renowned chefs on Jamaica’s North Coast.
Chef Shawn has managed restaurants on Mackinac Island, and Jackson, Michigan and in Florida and is excited to be joining the Okemos community.
